I’ve wanted to share some of these hacks for a while. I know most people are content with buying stock whatever a shop sells them but a lot of Campagnolo riders ride their equipment longer and are less willing to just throw it away for the next nearly aesthetic only upgrade. They want to personalize their stuff too. There is a good chance these riders chose Campagnolo and not what happened to be on an available bike. They might have waited. They might want to customize because the bike and it’s components were chosen by the rider, and every rider is different
The video goes through 4 light hacks and one more major problem – the EPS charger.
It hits on
- Modern Front Derailleur for semi-external routed frames by going through bottle cage screw, so we needed to relocate the bottle cage
- Stem spacer mount – Seriously. There is no V3/V4 interface stem mounts. I design one that makes the interface more accessible for charging. Save those pesky pins
- Climb / Sprint shifters – Hack into the wires to add some climb shifters. Pin out included
- Routing cables on my retro Wilier
- A whole new EPS charger that runs on USB and is even smaller than the Shimano DI2. The Campagnolo one’s cable is short, the charger is large, requires AC or 12v, and it’s large. I wanted to solve this.
Check out the Video and the Github for all the bits and bobs.
A few copies of the charger will be available on Tindie when it gets approved by the Tindie gods. However design files are all in the github for every plastic bit and electronic thing.
Some charging examples with the new micro charger below.
